Sundays at Messiah

We would love to have you join us in worship and fellowship on Sunday. A member of our church will be ready to greet you and help you with any questions you might have. If you have children with you, they are more than welcome to take part in the service (noise is okay – we have kids too), or they can join the other young children in our nursery downstairs. Following the 10:00 AM service we have a time of refreshments and conversation. Later in the day we gather again for our teaching service at 4:30pm, which usually takes about 45 minutes.

The Fundamentals

Gospel

In a confused and broken world, we believe that truth, hope, and light are found in the gospel of the crucified and resurrected Jesus Christ.

Scripture

We uphold the supreme value of God’s Word as truth for all of life. In it we not only find hope for the future, but also direction for the present.

Community

Being a church is not only about Sundays. We believe that Jesus gathers us together to support and care for each other daily.

Confession

We value our confessions. We believe they are accurate summaries of the teachings of the Bible, and they hold us accountable to it.

Christ Proclaimed

It is our prayer that God will continue to build and strengthen Messiah Canadian Reformed Church. May the gospel of Jesus Christ be our highest treasure and the foundation of our lives. May the Holy Spirit fill us with wisdom, love, and boldness. Through us, may the grace of God be demonstrated practically in acts of kindness, may the Kingdom of Heaven advance in the world, and may the people of our city come to know Jesus as their Messiah.

Calendar

Sunday Morning Coffee Social

The Lord’s Supper

Together we remember and celebrate the self-giving love of our saviour Jesus Christ when he offered himself on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We do this on the second Sunday of every month in the 10:00 AM service.

Church Potluck

On the last Sunday of the month we host a potluck here at the church. This is held after the second service downstairs in the fellowship hall and begins at approximately 5:30 PM. All are welcome to join us, whether or not you are able to bring any food, there is always more than enough food to go around.

Children’s Catechism Class

In this class for children ages 6 and up, we explore the teachings of scripture as summarized in the Heidelberg Catechism. We meet every Tuesday from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in the months of October to May. Please contact Pastor Tim if you are interested in having your child attend.

Bible/Book Study

Every other Tuesday night at 7:00 PM, we study the Bible and/or a book about the Bible. Typically, we use a study guide with discussion questions. We apply God’s Word to our lives, and then conclude with a time of prayer.

Here to Help

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God (Hebrews 13:16). Have questions? Hurting? In need of a meal, counsel or prayer? We’re here to help.
